About Olive's House

Olive’s House is designed on the principle that things worth owning should be either beautiful or practical, and ideally, both. Tablecloths that make an ordinary Tuesday feel considered, picnic rugs that go everywhere, and a sarong that moves from waterside to tableside with ease.

On Making

I’ve always been a maker. Over the years, everything I was working on had become so digital, and I wanted to return to craft and tactility. Every product is the result of a different inspiration, little field notes from life interpreted into design. For example, an image of coloured umbrellas in Morocco was the seed for the idea that became the Loli tablecloth. An afternoon of pausing my computer work to paint resulted in the print of the Vela Sarong.

Olive's House exists as a focused edit rather than an endless offering. The collection is small and considered, added to when something is genuinely ready. Every textile piece in the edit is made from either linen or cotton, and I’ve designed each piece in accordance with the size of the raw fabrics, to minimise production waste as much as possible. The ceramics are made by the hands of my friends and me, intuitively forming earth into objects.

The process is slow by choice.
